We’re pleased to be working with the Town of Penetanguishene on the development of a refreshed Community Brand and Identity Strategy.

Located on the southeastern shores of Georgian Bay, Penetanguishene is one of Ontario’s most historic communities, a bilingual town shaped by Indigenous, Francophone, and Anglophone cultures, with roots tracing back to early explorers and the Huron-Wendat people.

A Community with a Story to Tell

Penetanguishene has no shortage of assets: beautiful waterfronts, a rich bilingual heritage, and a strong sense of community pride. Yet over time, the town’s identity has become difficult to articulate clearly and consistently.

The existing brand was developed more than a decade ago. While it provided an important visual foundation, the town has continued to evolve, creating an opportunity to refresh the brand messaging framework to better reflect its future vision and support consistent application across communications, marketing, and economic development. Our work with the Town focuses on helping clarify that story.

Over the coming months, Cinnamon Toast will lead a series of community engagement and research activities, including interviews, co-creation workshops, and audience research. The insights collected will feed directly into a strategic brand positioning and messaging framework, a clear guide that connects the town’s vision, values, and unique attributes to actionable creative and communications decisions.

A Brand that Brings People Together

For municipalities, a strong brand creates alignment, helping residents, businesses, staff, and investors understand what a community stands for and where it is headed.

For Penetanguishene, the refreshed brand will aim to:

  • Strengthen community pride and resident connection
  • Support local businesses and tourism
  • Clarify the town’s regional identity
  • Position Penetanguishene as a place where people want to live, work, invest, and visit

We’re excited to work alongside the Town and its community to help shape that next chapter.
