Job Description

Cinnamon Toast (CT) is seeking a Web Developer in either our Ottawa or Hamilton location to oversee a portfolio of clients. The Web Developer not only has professional experience turning a design into websites and/or web applications using HTML, CSS, Javascript and JQuery, but is also comfortable with WordPress; constantly discovering new ways to architect or code.

Tasks

    • Develops functional and appealing web and mobile-based applications based on usability
    • Provides website maintenance and enhancements
    • Contributes to data entry and site population
    • Works with the designer to code and develop web pages that are consistent with the clients brand and functional to use
    • Completes deliverables of projects on time to reach client deadlines
    • Offers IT support when needed to clients before and after website launch
    • Completes regular quality assurance checks on web pages to minimize problems and bugs in the website
    • Consult with clients about project objectives and requirements
    • Collaborates and coordinates with team members

Desired Education and Experience:

    • 1+ years of web development (or similar) experience or post-secondary education in a web-related field
    • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN) and CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less, etc.)
    • Experience working with Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator) as an added bonus
    • Experience with WordPress and/or Shopify as an added bonus
    • Experience with Javascript Frameworks (React, Vue, etc.) as an added bonus

Nice to Have

    • Knowledge of AODA standards
    • Experience working with headless
    • Bilingual communication skills (FR)
